IMPORTANT NOTE (March 3, 2001):
For those of you that are not aware, the old message boards have been shut down. (Here is the shutdown notice.) The best that they could do was to provide a way for me to download the old messages into a flat file. So, if you have posted a message and are waiting for the answer, I have saved copies of the old messages here so that you can repost them if you wish, as well as see any responses that might have been given to them. I apologize for this inconvenience, but it is completely outside of my control. Hopefully, other message boards wont shut down and we wont have to go through this again.
NOTES FOR POSTING QUESTIONS OR RESPONDING TO THEM
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for the information that is posted in the reply to your questions. The reason for doing this is that I do not have all the answers.

You can use the "find people" board to ask about someone you're looking for and believe to be in Nigeria or Nigerian.

ASKING QUESTIONS
The size of this board has grown and grown and grown. So that those with 'hard/obscure questions' have a better chance of getting them answered, and so that the page doesn't take forever to load, and so that my 'regular helpers' don't get overwhelmed, I have to reiterate the rules and also get stricter at enforcing them.
This board is for posting and answering SPECIFIC questions not already covered on the site, and not for
- asking questions already covered on the site. When in doubt, search the site. If a question is posted that is obviously answered on the site, I will delete the question, and if time permits, email you with the page it is on.
- asking vague questions like 'tell me about Nigeria'. The questions need to be more detailed, and you have to already have checked the site.
- asking incomplete questions. For instance, if you have a question about whether there is a 'building' in your area or where in your area you can find certain things, we need to know what YOUR LOCATION is.
- getting into discussions and posting opinions. If you are looking for discussions and forums, I would suggest trying Nigeria.com, they have a discussion forum of almost every topic (and a lot more visitors for you to get into it with anyway).
- advertising. If you have a business that is Nigeria-related or you are Nigerian, visit the business page.
- posting events. Instead, visit the events page and post on that calendar.
- advertising organizations - whether or not your organization has a web site, visit the organizations page.
- posting personal ads - for that, visit Nigeria.com's MatchMaker
- chatting with or making friends - for that visit the Motherland Nigeria club.
TO POST A QUESTION
- You CAN choose not to enter one, since replies can be posted directly on the board without revealing your identity (I know how many people are scared of the net). However,
- if you do enter an email address, please verify that it is correct.
- not entering an email address also eliminates MY ability to communicate with YOU, which means I will definitely not be able to inform you if something is happening to the entry.
- As the site gets more visitors, so does this board, so if you enter questions, I suggest you check it periodically to see if anyone has answered you.
TO POST AN ANSWER
- I would prefer you post your answers to the board rather than emailing the person directly (to share the knowledge).
- If the concept the question covers can be incorporated into some page on the site in the future, that will be done.
The entries will stay on the message board until one of the following happens
- the question and the answer are covered in the site, and have been for a while.
- the requester was contacted to see if the question was answered to their satisfaction, and whether they approve it's removal
- the message is over 100 days old (then system removes them)
