ARTICLE ON WOMEN & DEMOCRACY |

He said that women's interest in Nigerian politics has always been undermined
in every democratic process, yet they are the pivot of every political process.
He explained that women were the blame of their own progress
in the political scene, adding that from observations, women
have apathy for voting for themselves for the interest of
their men counterpart.
The director also enumerated the problems of less
participation in politics of women to include the traditional
"purdah" system where women are not allowed to go out.
Dada noted that the situation will remain unchanged if the
women refuse and fail to reorientate themselves.
He observed that the level of women illiteracy occasioned by the attitude towards
acquiring education was also a contributory factor.
